Royal Trek derived its name in the early eighties when Prince Charles of Britain escorted by ninety Royal officials experienced this trekking trail. Due to this reason, it got its name—Royal Trek.

The Annapurna Royal trek is one of the shortest and easiest treks of Nepal that shows you the beauty of the Annapurna area. The trail gives a glimpse of Nepalese society and its ethnic indigenous group. Their unique culture and lifestyle are fascinating.

The trail passes through Gurung villages and goes across terraced fields viewing snow-capped peaks above. Gurung is regarded as a brave person in the world. Their bravery came to attention during Second World War while fighting in support of the United Kingdom. Due to this reason, British Government still believes in its Gorkha Regiment. Many Gurungs are honored by Victoria Cross (VC) so far.

Probably, due to this reason, Prince Charles explored this area. Besides, the unique culture of Gurung people and their lifestyle is appealing for many people across the world.

Furthermore, the appealing peaks of Annapurna Range, Mt. Machapuchhre [Fishtail], and Langtang Himalayas add joy to the trek. It is a single destination from where one can enjoy the beauty of snow-capped peaks just from 1,730m altitude.

Likewise, our porters will carry the heavy duffel bag during Annapurna Royal trekking. Our one porter carries a bag for two travelers. A duffel bag will be your main luggage during the trek. Each trekker has a 10 kg weight limit. Likewise, trekkers can also carry a daypack, and the weight limit for this is 5 kg.

As our guides and porters will help you a lot to make the journey safe, fun, and smooth, we highly recommend you tip them at the end of their service. What is the best time to do the Annapurna Royal trek?

The best time to do the Annapurna Royal trek is in the spring (March, April, and May) and autumn (September, October, and November) seasons. These two seasons have ideal weather and trail conditions for trekking in the Himalayas.

The trekking routes are bustling and decorated with thousands of flowers. Likewise, the moderate climate and steady weather allow for a lovely experience. The temperature ranges from 5°C to 22°C.

During the summer/monsoon (June, July, and August) and winter (December, January, and February), the weather is very poor and challenges are quite high. Therefore, it is not a good idea to do the Annapurna Royal trek in these two seasons.

Travel insurance for the Annapurna Circuit trek

Travel insurance is important for the Annapurna Royal trek. You cannot join this trek without it. The travel insurance must cover emergency helicopter evacuation and medical bills. This is to make sure you are getting proper attention in case of a medical emergency during the journey.

You can also include flight cancellation, baggage loss/theft, etc, coverage in the travel insurance. As the Annapurna Royal trail does not have adequate health facilities or proper means of transportation, travel insurance is very important.

What is the altitude sickness risk on this trek? How do avoid it?

Altitude sickness is a common illness that trekkers suffer from during high-altitude activity like the Annapurna Royal trek. Not everyone suffers from it, and it is also quite avoidable and manageable. First things first, altitude sickness happens because of an elevation change and if your body is not acclimatized.

So, we have made sure you get ample acclimatization time following the Annapurna Royal Trek's 9-day itinerary. Likewise, our guide will check your health regularly during the trek. If you feel any discomfort or see symptoms like headache, vomiting, difficulty in breathing, insomnia, nausea, loss of appetite, etc, inform him immediately.
